“The Star Spangled Banner”
The Defense of Fort McHenry
by Francis Scott Key
20 September 1814
Oh, say can you see, by the dawn’s early light,
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, through the perilous fight,
O’er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets’ red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
On the shore, dimly seen through the mists of the deep,
Where the foe’s haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o’er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, now conceals, now discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning’s first beam,
In full glory reflected now shines on the stream:
‘Tis the star-spangled banner! O long may it wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle’s confusion
A home and a country should leave us no more?
Their blood has wiped out their foul footstep’s pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved homes and the war’s desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heaven-rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, for our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: “In God is our trust.”
And the star-spangled banner forever shall wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

The world we live in is unbelievable at times and is filled with excitement and advanced technologies. These technologies are so well designed that an experienced designer in the online business world can only efficiently use the user-friendly tools on the web, which was more of a web programmers job prior to a couple of years from now.
And that’s great, right? Well, not exactly. The reverse is the real truth.
The ease and accessibility of using these tools has led to the formation of hundreds of “junk” websites which are unplanned and very confusing for the surfers since many of them are designed by novices.
Most of these junk web pages have more than 7 to 8 individual programs running simultaneously – time-flashing header graphics, Google Adsense ads, an opt in form, innumerable contents and paragraphs, audio buttons, affiliate links and many more things.
So, what to do?
Most of the successful webmasters will suggest for you to have a simple, clean and easy website for the masses. The designs must suit the end-user and not just the designer. It ought to be a pleasant experience for the end users.
There are 3 primary features of a successful website – Simplicity, speed and clarity. In other words, your website must be visually appealing with simple navigation facilities and allowing prompt downloads.
In order to design a visually appealing website, use simple graphics, color and text. You must not use flashing computer graphics and irritating backgrounds.
In fact, if you want to put up readable content for your visitors, try using white background and black text color; that’s the best.
You need to be an expert graphics designer in order to design a content that is visually pleasing. A few photographs can be collected from open sources sites like and then some colored text can be added to it with proper taglines using graphic programs.
That’s all you would need for a header, presuming that you would be using a header, as studies have revealed that better results have been achieved by niche markets without the use of headers or images.
Navigation should always be simple texts or buttons used as links, either on top just below the header, or down on the left or right side of the screen. Make sure that the label in the text explains what the reader will find as e/she clinks on the link.
Option forms or simple ads (“not more than one or two) can be placed in the column (left or right) with the content lying in the center of the site to attract readers.
Your content’s layout also must be simple and clean. Text is more legible in “chunks”. This states that brief paragraphs and sentences of about 2-4 sentences must be used.
Make proper use of colors in the bullets and sub headings. Add in some graphics in every page to add some amount of visual curiosity and to break the text up.
Borders must be used around the text as well so as to avoid the texts from entering the edges of the ad panels or navigations.
In short, many upcoming webmasters (as well as the experienced ones) are of the opinion that cramming will get you highly graded and listed, but actually that is the least of what will happen.
In order to keep people glued to your site and have them back once again, you must keep your site clean and also make it easy and simple to use, understand and navigate without causing any headache to the user.
So, go ahead and hire a web design company who will take care of all your problems and design a website for you which is simple and clean with ease of use.

Web 2.0 is one of the most commonly used web designing styles of the modern day. This particular style manifests in few features. The available width of the web page is fixed and cannot be altered. The shape is round with a shadowed part in the center. But with Web 2.0 you can get adequate volume and gradients which make the web page look quite interesting and attractive. The fonts used to display the texts are large and clearly visible to the readers. This is one of the best features because poor quality font is a turn off for the visitors. You get the option to create the headers in bright colors and highlight them to make eye-catching. There is ample opportunity to put adequate amount of grey text which is definitely an indispensable part of the web pages. If you wish to experiment with the text sizes, Web 2.0 is the right option for you. The buttons can be given rounded shapes if required. There are quite a number of other advantages like glass effects, shadows and many more.
Generally the sites which focus on enhanced user interaction go for the Web 2.0 designing option. You can create magical effects on the web page with the help of this designing method.
The reflections and shadows make it easier to attract users to your website. Simplicity blended with elegance is the choice of the modern day web designers and Web 2.0 makes an ideal choice for them. The 3 dimensional effects are an attraction and acceptable for the users. The soft colors at the backgrounds make the site look soothing for the eyes. The most popular choices are grey scale and white in this category. On the plain backdrop you can use some vibrant colors which will make the texts more readable for the visitors by straining their eyes less. The favorite font colors include stark red or classic black.
The trend of using small but cute icons has become popular these days. You need not include too many icons in order to make the page look interesting. The buttons should be uniquely shaped so that the users feel like clicking on them. The page should look organized so that the visitors do not get confused. The eyes of the readers need some space while browsing through the site. This is why the Web 2.0 designing trends follow the usage of adequate white space. You should use large fonts for the convenience of the users. The layout of the content is very important in web designing. You can use the columns and rows to make the content look well-organized. Usage of bullets, shading, numbering are few of the important features that Web 2.0 designing sports.
Presentation of the web pages plays an important role in making a website popular and this is the reason why Web 2.0 designing tools have included several additional features for the users. These tools aid in keeping up with the pace of changing trends in web development.

Why is Ajax so popular and what does Ajax stand for? Ajax is asynchronous Java Script and XML. This is a type of programming which was made popular in 2005 by Google. This is not a new programming language but a completely new way to use existing standards. This is a group of interrelated web development techniques that are used on client side to create rich internet applications. Another reason for the popularity is the fact that with the programming, most web applications can retrieve server data without interfering with the existing page. This has lead to more interactive programming on sites.
This uses a combination of DON, CSS and HTML which helps to style and mark information and dynamically display and interacts with the presented information. The name Ajax was thought up in 2005. In 2006 W3C released the first draft of this programming. There are many different advantages for using Ajax such as the Synchronous requests will allow the browser to be more interactive. It can also reduce connections to the servers in question and the browser can request that only the pertinent information be refreshed. The style sheets only have to be requested the one time.
It is easy to see why this particular technology is becoming more popular. It does make web pages easier to get to and doesn’t tie up the browser with reload codes for information. Some of the current technologies are as follows. JavaScript brings the technologies together, CSS and XHTML are used for presentations. The XMLHttp Request will allow for asynchronous communication. Document Object Model that allows interaction and dynamic display of the data in question. The XML and XSLT allows for manipulation display and interchange of data. That alone is reason enough for the popularity of the Ajax format.
With the ease of use, it is little wonder why web designers are all rushing to use this particular technology. It is easy to use, more interactive and doesn’t tie up the servers with unneeded requests. It makes designing a website much easier. With the way that it handles animations and design elements, it is little wonder why people are going nuts for this adaptation of technology. It makes it easier to design the elements of a page and have it up and running. Ajax has also been approved by W3C for widespread use since 2006.
The ease of use contributes to its popularity. More and more designers are using this to design interactive sites that respond quickly, load quickly and don’t tie up the servers with useless reload or refresh requests. This formulation only requests the content that needs to be updated and not the whole page which saves time with page loading and function. This also allows for faster response of inputs which will also reduce load time and bandwidth. The loading of individual pages is also faster, which cuts down on the wait time for the loading of pages. Users also feel that the applications are much faster when dealing with Ajax even if the application hasn’t been changed on the side of the server.

Drupal is an open source modular framework and CMS system that is written in PHP. It is increasingly popular and some design tips will help you to make the most of the Drupal system. If you are designing an SEO site there are some tips that will help you to make the most of Drupal. These hints are to basically on site optimize for search engines. There are 10 hints that will be covered here. The first is to enable clean urls. This will happen automatically if the servers allow it. You will need to install the pathauto and enable it.
This is done by using both pathauto and taxonomy. This will allow for nice looking urls. You will also need to install the Global Redirect mode and this will automatically do around 301 redirects straight to your url aliases. Then you will need to install the Meta Tags module. These aren’t to be used for the stuffing of keywords. The meta tags are specifically for the meta description which should be different on each and every page. You will also need to install the Page Title Module which allows for different or custom titles on each and every page.
Don’t install the Google Sitemaps Module. This is better left alone. Remember to make sure that your Drupal Rewrite Rules are followed for a 301 redirect. You will the need to fix your HTML headers. The next step is to duplicate content from /node and take care of the Drupal PHP Session ID’s. Be aware to take care when you are working the default robots file as sometimes this can cause serious errors. You need to also write good content and setup good web pages by making sure that your keywords are used often and well.
Keyword density is also a big topic here. Take care not to keyword stuff as that will get you into trouble with Google and get your site banned. Keyword density must not be more than 15 percent. Use Drupal to set up the Google Sitemap. Make sure that the content of the page is fresh and original or it may not get indexed according to Google’s new rules. As stated above, turn on the clean urls and really feed those crawlers. Make sure that your url has your keywords on it. You also will need to tell Yahoo crawlers to visit your site.
Alexa will be the judge of how well your sites are doing. By checking, you will have some idea of the ranking of your site. Make sure that the Drupal Modules are turned on and installed that will help the crawlers. Get rid of the PHPSP problems and also get a Technorati account which will boost your exposure. You can also manually create inbound links to your site. Encourage the use of social connections to your site and use a web service to enhance your site. These are just some ways to use Drupal when it comes to designing and activating sites.
